Winter 2023

The winter 2023 session is scheduled between January 27 and April 9. GVS has opened 22 classes for students in three levels of English proficiency: A2, B1, and B1+/B2. There are 20 centers that offer our program, located in nine different countries.

A2-level ESL Program

Students have taken placement tests and are now learning in the CEFR A2 level. The curriculum is based on the American Headway series, AH2. According to CEFR, at this level, students are learning basic verb tenses, learning new vocabulary items and practice their listening and pronunciation.

B1-level ESL program

Students who completed the A2 level continue in the B1 CEFR level. New students are tested before joining the class. In this level, students are learning to talk about various topics, they are practicing their reading and writing skills along their listening and speaking. By the end of their course, they should be able to carry conversations about their interests, their hobbies and school work, their family and friends.

B1+/B2-level ESL program

Students who completed the B1 CEFR level successfully in the Fall 2022 session move to this level. New students are tested before joining the class. In this level, students are learning advanced grammar, vocabulary, idioms and social expressions in a variety of topics, including professional and academic. Students who successfully complete this level move on to the IGCSE English as a Second Language course next school year.
